Barbecued Hamburger

2 Tbsp fat
1 lb ground beef
½ cup chopped onion
½ cup chopped celery
¼ large bell pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
¼ cup chili sauce
¼ cup catsup
1 cup water
1 tsp salt
⅛ tsp pepper
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp vinegar
2 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp dry mustard
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp chili powder
1 Tbsp chopped parsley
 
Preheat frying pan. Add fat, meat, onions and celery. Brown stirring frequently. Spoon off fat. Combine remaining ingredients except parsley. Mix well, pour over meat. Cover fry pan and reduce heat. Simmer 30 minutes stirring occasionally. Add parsley. Serve between hamburger buns, or over mashed potatoes, rice or noodles. Also good on toast. Time about 20 minutes to brown and ½ hour to finish.
