Cherry Pie

1 cup sugar
¼ cup flour
1-lb can red sour pitted cherries
¼ tsp almond extract
red food coloring
11/3 Tbsp oleo or butter
Pastry for 8 or 9-inch two crust pie
 
In pan combine first 2 ingredients then add cherries. Cook, stirring til mixture boils and thickens. Stir in extract and enough red food coloring to make the filling red. Pour into pie shell, dot with butter. Cover with top crust. Seal edges. Bake at 325º for 30 to 35 minutes or til crust is browned.
