1 cup raisins cooked in
2 cups water until plump. While
cooking raisins, mix 2 sticks oleo with 1½ cups sugar. Add 2 eggs and
beat
well. Sift together 2½ cups flour, 1 tsp soda, 1 tsp cinnamon. Add to
sugar
mixture alternately with 1 cup of liquid drained from the raisins. If
not
enough liquid to make 1 cup, add water. Mix with dough. Add raisins, 1
tsp vanilla
and blend well. Bake on lightly oiled cookie sheet at 350º for 20
minutes or
til dough springs back when touched with finger. Ice with thin powdered
sugar
glaze as soon as taken from oven. Makes 4 dozen.
