Mix flour, salt, baking
powder and soda. Slit dates
lengthwise and stuff each with a pecan half. Beat butter, sugar, eggs,
and vanilla
until creamy. Stir in flour mixture alternately with sour cream until
blended
and smooth. Drop dates a few at a time into batter. Turn dates with two
forks
until well coated. Place 2 inches apart on well greased cookie sheet.
Bake on
middle rack at 400° about 10 minutes or
until golden
brown. Remove to rack to cool. Spoon a little icing over each cookie.
Store
tightly covered in single layers between sheets of waxed paper in cool
dry
place.
