Christmas Trees
(Press Cookies)

1 cup shortening
¾ cup sugar
1 egg
2¼ cups flour
⅛ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking powder
1 tsp almond extract
green food coloring

Cream shortening, adding sugar gradually. Add unbeaten egg, sifted dry ingredients, flavoring and food coloring. Mix well. Fill cookie press. Form cookies on ungreased cookie sheets using tree blade. Decorate with tiny candies. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375°. Yield—6 dozen. May tint with different color and make different designs.
 
The wreaths with the silver balls are the best. Beautiful to look at, wonderful to eat.—Randy
