2 cups
flour
¼ cup
sugar
3 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
nutmeg or mace
Sift
together above and add:
¼ cup
Wesson oil
¾ cup
milk
1 egg
Stir with a fork until
thoroughly mixed. Drop by
teaspoonfuls (too large a ones will not cook thru) in hot oil or fat
(375°). Fry
til golden brown, about 3 minutes. If too many are cooked at once, oil
will
cool and puffs become grease soaked. Drain on paper towels. Roll warm
puffs in
cinnamon and sugar or glaze by dipping into glaze. Makes 2 ½ dozen.
A special
treat.—Peggy
